I could use a nap. I turned my alarm off in my sleep this morning. My body needs to recuperate from getting to bed so late the past few days. I just can't bring myself to go to bed at 9pm (I get up at 5am, so really I should). At 9pm I'm just starting to wind down from work, dinner, and chores. (If my commute were shorter, I'd have more time.) It doesn't help that I'm still recovering from my vacation (need to finish laundry, etc.), but now my in-laws are on vacation this week and we have to feed all of their mules, horses, chickens, etc. All of that takes at least an hour. I'm gonna have to do a shit ton of stuff this weekend so I can actually start exercising again next week. I feel so dragged out.

Alright, whining aside, I finally finished my vacation post that I wrote last week and uploaded my vacation pictures. This is just a quick break down of what we did. The pictures are decidedly Nautilus-dominated, but I didn't want to clog the interwebz with too many photos.

Saturday June 6
Arrived in Washington, DC. Checked into the Topaz Hotel. Hit the National Zoo for a little while that afternoon. I LOVE THE METRO!!

Sunday June 7
Walked all over Arlington National Cemetary for two hours in my sandals, yeowch. Luna Grill for lunch. Went over to Sterling, VA to the Sweetwater Tavern to have dinner with a former guildmate from Warhammer Online. Left our camera battery charger at home, and a new charger was $60. Our camera only cost $80, so we bought a new, better camera instead. (And we gave our old camera to Travis's parents, who had been looking for a camera.)

Monday June 8
Walked from Arlington across the Potomac River to the Lincoln Memorial. Toured the National Mall area: Korean War Monument, World War 2 Memorial, DC War Memorial, Natural History Museum. Loads of people EVERYWHERE. (That's what I get for going on vacation after school lets out.) So very tired afterwards.

Tuesday June 9
NIN in Columbia, MD. Arrived around 2pm. FUCKING HOT AND HUMID OUTSIDE. Met Trent Reznor and the band backstage because I donated to the Eric De La Cruz charity. Got to listen to soundcheck. During "The Day the Whole World Went Away", the temperature must have dropped 15 degrees as the skies darkened and rain pelted the pavillion for over 30 minutes--absoulutely epic weather. Ate dinner at catering backstage and got to watch the show from sidestage. Happy that I heard: Burn, The Becoming, Right Where It Belongs, Something I Can Never Have. (I didn't stay for Jane's Addiction because I was exhausted--sorry, guys!) The whole experience was absolutely phenomenal and worth every moment. (Pictures to be uploaded at a later date, as they were already offloaded to a different computer.)

Wednesday June 10
Breakfast with Patricia Southard, friend from high school, at Kramerbooks. National Zoo: Meet a Kiwi. American History Museum. The shooting at the Holocaust Museum happened at 12:50pm while I was still over at the National Zoo. I didn't get to the American History Museum until after 1pm. Legs so weary from walking 2+ miles a day for the past few days that I took a 3 hour nap that afternoon. Ate dinner at Luna Grill again...had the most amazing plate of pasta EVER (brocolli, tomatoes, ham, and penne in a parmesan cream sauce--forgot to take a picture it was so damn good). To hell with the calories in it!

Thursday June 11
Checked out of Topaz Hotel and left DC. Stopped by B&F Ceramics in Fredericksburg, VA to meet up with one of our vendors from work.
