Christmas Knitting
Dec. 18th, 2009 12:27 pmI'm almost done Christmas shopping, but there's nothing knitted under the tree this year. When I realized this, I decided that with the two gifts left to get, one should be knitted. As I tend to crochet the smaller items, I wanted to try knitting a small animal for my Secret Santa exchange at work. This year's theme (decided upon by me) is "Green Christmas" where I'd like everyone to give a gift that is reusable, repurposed, recycled, or handmade. (I urged everyone to at the least wrap their gifts in fabric, newspaper, or something that they already have instead of buying new material.)
I perused Ravelry for all of 30 seconds before finding this adorable little guy. He's no Nautilus, but I will definitely be makinga family of them one for myself after the holidays. I somehow have an overabundance of tweed shades of brown, so I have more than enough to make a few hedgehogs.
